Discover how our Digital PR team helped takepayments build 45 high-authority backlinks and position themselves as a trusted voice in the payment technology space.
takepayments help SME businesses find the payment solution that best suits their needs, offering card terminals, online payments, POS systems, and more. They partnered with Bring Digital to improve their online visibility and drive relevant traffic to their website.
Our key focus was generating high-authority, relevant backlinks to the takepayments website, boosting rankings and establishing the brand as a credible source in the financial services sector. However, we faced challenges in the early stages, including navigating compliance processes.
To address these issues, we implemented a trial phase to identify what activity would deliver the best results. Through this, we discovered that combining reactive PR opportunities with hero campaigns would drive the impact takepayments were looking for — leading to the launch of the ‘Ways to Pay’ campaign.
The ‘Ways to Pay’ campaign ran from Q3 2023 onwards and was designed to delve into how UK customers prefer to shop and pay. To gather fresh insights, we commissioned an external survey of 1,000 UK residents, asking them about their preferred way to pay and their payment habits.
We transformed the results into a detailed campaign landing page, highlighting key statistics and takeaways for SMEs. To further enhance the content, we collaborated with the takepayments team to include expert commentary from their in-house specialists, ensuring the campaign aligned with their brand voice and authority.
The Bring Digital PR team then used this data to develop multiple outreach angles, tailoring our pitches to suit personal finance, technology, and SME-focused publications.
The ‘Ways to Pay’ campaign launched in June 2023 and continues to deliver organic results today.
It generated 45 high-authority backlinks with an impressive average domain rating (DR) of 44. Notably, 68% of these were follow links, aligning with takepayments’ goal to enhance site authority. Coverage highlights include publications such as Computer World, StartUps, Payments Journal, and Retail Times.
In addition, the campaign landing page now ranks for 20 keywords related to “contactless” and “payment” terms, securing visibility in SERPs and driving targeted organic traffic.
Since the Ways to Pay campaign, we have found our stride with this client and our team consistently delivers solid results for them using learnings from this campaign to refine our strategies.
“The results from this activity show the strength of a well-thought-out, relevant campaign that includes expert commentary. The team made the data work as hard as possible to come up with multiple angles, to the point where the content is now gaining natural, organic links – which is a Digital PR’s dream. As an agency, we’re proud to have worked alongside takepayments, and we are excited to see where the rest of 2024 will take the partnership.”
